About the Item

A stunning and large scale Italian 19th century white Carrara marble statue of Rachele and Lamb on it's original Vert de Patricia marble pedestal, signed F. Vichi. Firenze. The statue is raised by a its original pedestal with an octagonal base and circular lightly tapered central support with a mottled design. The wonderfully executed and most charming statue displays a circular base with the title "Rachele" at the front and the signature at the back. The beautiful Rachele is dressed in richly sculpted flowing period attire with her hair wrapped in a head scarf. She is adorned with fine pearls and holds her staff in front of her. The charming lamb is lying at her feet lovingly looking up at her. The original bill of sale dated 1895 is also included and signed by Vichi himself. Statue Dimensions: H: 36" L: 14.75" D: 14.75" Pedestal Dimensions: H: 38" L: 15" D: 15" Fernando Vichi was part of the talented band of Tuscan sculptors associated with the Bazzanti gallery in Florence, as 'F Vichi - Firenze'. His compositions are varied in subject matter, from romantic busts to Renaissance inspired models. Vichi's work in white marble demonstrates high technical virtuosity, particularly in his mastery of facial expression, detailed muscles and veins.

An exquisite and extremely high quality Italian 19th century white Carrara marble statue on its original Rouge Griotte and black Belgian marble pedestal named "Amore Segreto" signed A. E. Rossetti Roma 1878. The statue is raised on its original pedestal column with a square black Belgium marble base and mottled socle shaped support below the circular lightly tapered Rouge Griotte marble central support and circular mottled top.
