Italian Alabaster statue of two cherubs, signed by E. Battiglia
About the Item
A lovely and most charming Italian Turn of the Century Alabaster statue of two cherubs, signed by Eugenio Battiglia. This adorable statue is raised on a square Alabaster base which supports the two cherubs above. Stunning and wonderfully detailed floral garlands cascade down the front of the statue and overlap the crossed legs of each cherub. Together, the cherubs are holding a intricately sculpted book and studying the inscription. Each cherub has one arm wrapped around the back of the other while displaying charming expressions and flowing curly hair.
