Japanese Meiji period patinated bronze sculpture of a geisha waiving her hand in greeting signed Genryusai Seiya 19th Century The attractive young geisha is dressed in traditional Japanese kimono and beautifully woven sandals. Her hair is done up in the distinctive Shimada style accessorizied with beads and ribbons. This hair style was primarily worn by Geisha and Maiko ( geisha in training). Her attractive face with a hint of a smile, hand raised in greeting. Lovely piece. Warm, medium brown patina with gilt hightlights Fine detail Height: 13 inches
