About the Item

Large, lovely and very nicely made Kutani statues They depict the characters from the story of Momotaro (Peach Boy). Specifically, Momotaro himself, Dog, Monkey, Pheasant, and an Oni (demon) that they fight against. The mark reads Kutani made by Yuma. This is the mark of Tsugata Yuma (1891 - 1981). This means the pieces were made somewhere during his lifetime. Additional information: Material: Porcelain & Pottery Region of Origin: Japan Period: 19th century, 20th century Meiji Periode (1867-1912), Showa Periode (1926-1989), Taisho Periode (1912-1926) Original/Reproduction: Original Condition: Missing part from Momotaro and restuck piece.
