Each object is a sculpture functional designed under the mix between forms, daily life and possible uses. Buildings, + artifacts = “guacas”, beings, children; Transmutation. All the pieces have been made of handcrafted metal in Panama humanely and environmentally sustainable. With a color palette remember the mechanics, the series It has been conceived in mattone orange, and provides options in ivory, gray suede or mustard, each color representing a sensation. With metal as a structural system, the series allows to continue mutating when giving the possibility of varying the surfaces to wood, cement/stone, and/or reinforced glass. Sofia Alvarado, founder of Fi, is an architect and designer with the sensitivity necessary to recognize that sustainability is only possible where all actors prosper and human rights are respected, so the ideology of the study is based on the concept of Human Design, which promotes detailed work, integral design of things and efficiency on a human scale, in a tribute to Latin american hand made craft that has been suggested for years by the insecurity of ignorance. It uses technology but does not abandon the artisans, mainly it dignifies them and empowers, so that they appropriate their work to the fullest, and thus achieve luxury artisans. All pieces made in Fi are hand made in Panama by single / unique or limited edition,either under collection or to design to order. Fi - Sofia Alvarado born and based in Panama and graduated in architecture from the School of Architecture of Latin America and the Caribbean, Panama. She has participated in the Ibero-American Design Biennial in its editions bid16 / bid18 / bid20, Madrid, Spain and MADE Latina and in Sao Paulo Design week, 2019, Sao Paulo, Brazil with its Prisma, Áurea, Welcome Back and Beautiful City collections.
