Large bronze group after Clodion dating from the 19th century

About the Item

Large bronze group with brown patina signed Clodion on the base of the group, dating from the 19th century, representing a fauna with her two children, one on her knees the other lying down, on the theme of bacchus. The mother hands a cup of wine to the child, the wine flows from a barrel. The group is mounted on a green marble pedestal with molded and beaded edges. Marble terrace dimensions: 35 cm x 26.5 cm. Claude Michel (1738-1814), known as Clodion, was a sculptor from Lorraine French region who won numerous awards for his mythological and allegorical work.
