LATE 19th CENTURY PORCELAIN SCULPTURE GROUP "MUSIC SCENE"

About the Item

Elegant sculpture group in polychrome porcelain, blue and white, with gold finishes, representing a musician and a noblewoman intent on attending the concert. The musician, sitting on a stool, is immersed in the act of playing the cello, wearing typical eighteenth-century clothes, with a jacket decorated with blue flowers. The noblewoman, who is listening to the music, is elegantly seated on an armchair, adorned with a magnificent dress, a necklace and a fan that she holds in her hand. Between the two figures there is also a small twisted column, surmounted by a vase of flowers. The attention to detail and the accurate representation make of this sculpture group a refined piece, capable of enriching any environment with taste and elegance. Coming from the Neapolitan manufacture of Capodimonte, as evidenced by the presence of the crowned initials "M" on the bottom, it is attributed to the end of the nineteenth century.
