Beautiful and highly detailed life size heron in verdigris patinated brass, mid 20th century.
This stunning heron is a real eye-catcher in your interior or on your terrace. The great detailing shows that this is not just your average statue of a heron. The maker made it feel lifelike by paying attention to the right proportions, shapes and details. For example, look at the bird's free-standing crest, or at the open beak. The legs - you often see these kind of sculptures on a pedestal - are slender and beautifully detailed.
Above all, the colors are beautiful. We suspect that the brass heron was patinated manually after casting, but that an extra layer of natural patina was created by standing outside for many years.
A beauty of a sculpture and a real mid-century gem which will be a great asset to your interior, garden or terrace.
