Luigi Melchiorre Italian Gilded Bronze Bust of Child in Bonnet
About the Item
A fine antique Italian gilded bronze sculptural bust of a young child wearing a bonnet signed by Luigi Melchiorre (1859-c.1908). The bust sits on a draped integral pedestal and portrays a well detailed head of a young child wearing a buttoned collar with an integral peaked bonnet applied with a ribbon. The quality is superb and the bust is signed L. Melchiorre to the side of the pedestal and has an impressed French foundry mark to the back along with various impressed reference numbers.
