About the Item

Decorate a study, office, or living room with this elegant bronze figure by Louis Hottot. Crafted in France circa 1950 and mounted on a circular green marble base, the sculpture depicts a refined Parisian lady seated gracefully on a rocky perch, holding a pair of opera glasses as she gazes forward with poise and charm. Her elaborate dress, flowing folds, and wide-rimmed hat with bow are rendered with remarkable detail, showcasing Hottot’s mastery in capturing both movement and expression. The two-tone patinated finish, highlighting subtle gold and brown hues, adds depth and sophistication to the composition. Signed “L. Hottot” on the base, the work is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and displays a rich, warm patina. Louis Hottot (1834–1905) was a renowned 19th-century French sculptor from Neuilly-sur-Seine, celebrated for his romantic and Orientalist bronzes exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1885 to 1898, and his works are listed in the Benezit Dictionary of Artists.
