Murano Hand-Blown Glass Table Fountain w Gold Leaf Inclusions, Att Gino Cenedese

About the Item

Incredible handcrafted and mouth-blown glass table fountain and light fixture. This rare Murano glass table fountain is a spectacular fusion of sculpture, light, and water — a true showpiece. Attributed to the studio of Gino Cenedese, one of the most celebrated Venetian glassmakers, it’s a masterwork of hand-blown artistry and gold-infused glass. At its center is a twisted emerald-glass column, supporting a poised female figure at the top, surrounded below by four playful male figures, each uniquely modeled. The composition may represent an allegory of music, nature, and celebration. The central female figure evokes a muse or goddess, while the surrounding male figures — two with musical instruments and two with flowers — suggest themes of joyful expression, beauty, and abundance. Together, they create a scene that feels both harmonious and timeless — a tribute to the pleasures of life, rendered entirely in glass. Between the four figures, large translucent blossoms bloom from the basin, each hiding a tiny fountain spout. When activated, water or champagne flows gently from the flowers, catching the light and shimmering as it cascades into the green marbled glass basin. The piece is richly accented with cordonato d’oro — an intricate Murano technique that incorporates 24k gold leaf directly into the glass. This gives the entire fountain a subtle golden glow, especially when illuminated. These fountains were rarely made and always one-of-a-kind — often commissioned for grand homes or luxury interiors. This example is not just decorative, but fully functional and electrified, with its fountain mechanism and interior light both in working condition. *Gino Cenedese (1907–1973) was one of the leading figures in Murano glassmaking during the 20th century. He founded his own glassworks, Gino Cenedese & C., in 1946, right after World War II — a time when Murano was beginning a creative revival. Cenedese collaborated with renowned designers and artists, including Fulvio Bianconi and Alfredo Barbini, and became known for combining classical techniques with bold, expressive forms. His studio was especially admired for its innovative use of color, gold leaf, and figurative elements, all of which are beautifully reflected in this fountain. Pieces attributed to Cenedese are highly collectible today and continue to represent the elegance, craftsmanship, and spirit of postwar Venetian design that made Murano world-famous. This extraordinary craftsmanship fountain/light therefor too is great value for money. But also, because perfect packing and worldwide shipping from our store to your door in just 2 to 5 workdays are complimentary as well. Maximum diameter x height: 24 x 28.5 inches. *Power Info (for U.S. buyers): This fountain runs on 220V, as it was originally wired for European use. If you're in the U.S., you'll just need a simple step-up voltage converter (from 110V to 220V) to use it. These are easy to find online or at electronics shops. The difference in frequency (50Hz vs 60Hz) typically isn’t an issue for this kind of pump, but if you’re planning to use it regularly, it’s always a good idea to check with an electrician. *The twisted emerald glass column has a non-structural surface crack — it does not run through and the piece remains stable and visually striking. One of the glass flowers is missing a few petals, though this doesn’t take away from the overall beauty of the composition. The fountain mechanism is working, but may need some adjustment to achieve the ideal water flow. We are driven by a passion for uniqueness, timeless, quality, stylish design, and the enduring craftsmanship of the past.
