About the Item

Oliver Hardy Mechanical TV Prop A brilliant throw back to the Iconic British TV show in the mid 1980s. This Spitting Image prop of Oliver Hardy was used on the show alongside his famous side kick Stan Laurel to bring smiles and laughter to many viewers. This prop comes with an original 19th century English made top hat which is removable, with all its original mechanical elements in place but not working as we have not tested it. The outer surface is made from some flexible foam material and inserted glass eyes. We feel this is just a brilliant and fun object with a great aged look. Dimensions in inches: H 19” x W 11” x D 11” Age: 1980s Origin: England Condition: Worn A naturally aged item that has stood the test of time over many years of use and storage. This item is untouched and as we obtained it from the TV Studios earlier this month. The face has some white chalky repair clay on it, we believe this was to be repainted at some point but was never done. The foam surface has loss and weathered decay. The zip on the reverse is stuck fast, non of the mechanical element work (we have not tested) The has is 19th Century and worn also. This item does not stand alone but does have a metal support hole in the base with can easily be mounted by the buyer. There is a split to the top of the head as shown but is hidden by the hat. We strongly suggest reviewing all the photos provided as part of this advert and propose questions where sections are unclear to avoid disappointment upon purchase.
