Decorate an office shelf with this cheerful pair of antique terracotta children busts. Crafted in Paris, France circa 1880, each subject features a child face sculpture standing on a black painted socle base. Each figure has wonderful facial expressions and nice details. Both artworks are signed on the back E. Guillemin with marks reading "Quai Jemmapes 6". The busts are in excellent condition with the original terracotta patinated finish. Émile Coriolan Hippolyte Guillemin (1841-1907) was a French sculptor of the Belle Époque. He worked mainly in bronze and also made artwork subjects in terracotta. He studied under his father, the painter Auguste Guillemin, and under Jean-Jules Salmson. He showed work at the Salon of Paris from 1870-1899, and in 1897 received an honorable mention there. His sculptures incorporated themes inspired by the French revolution, Mediterranean mythology, and orientalist aesthetics. This is a stunning figurine table lamp of a nude lady bronze Figurine sculpture made in France, circa 1930. The figurine is heavy and made of bronze metal with good detail. It has been cold painted with a green colour which has worn away in places, showing a patinated bronze colour beneath. The lady is stood on a round ball above a shaped shell like base. The figure is holding the lamp above her head with the electric cable running into the base and vertically up her back to the lamp fitting above. A coloured spherical glass shade firmly sits in the dished support. The light is currently fitted with a small bayonet fitting, the whole electrical fitting having been PAT tested for safety compliance in the UK. The fitting could easily be modified to suit the electricity supply of the country where it might be used . This piece is typical of the Art Deco aesthetic, with the sleek lines of the nude girl figure holding the globe light above. The lamp is in full working order.
