Otos Bookend by Faye Tsakalides

$1,101.25

About

Otos bookend by Faye Tsakalides. Dimensions: 21 W x 28 L x 6 H cm Materials: White Volakas marble. Technique: Crafted from a single piece of marble. Hand-crafted, Polished. Mat finished. Faye Tsakalides is a Greek architect and designer based in London and Athens. Faye creates for Marble Rituals collections of interior accessories and small furniture. The designs have a distinct Scandinavian and architectural expression, with clean lines and beautiful, durable stones in natural white and off-white tones. Every piece is designed down to the finest detail and adding attitude and a graphic touch to any home interior. All products are manufactured within the EU, in Greece, and sold internationally. Otos marble bookend plays on the notion of sculptural minimalism challenging the border between functional Art and sculptural Design. It is ideal for the living room as well as the working areas. It seems amazing standing alone but when you place your books, the bookend suddenly becomes an extraordinary functional object. This piece that resembles the end of a shark combines apparent simplicity with rigorous geometry. Handcrafted in pure white Volakas marble in the north of Greece, a place famous for its marble quarries, it pays homage to the famous Greek ancient civilization, Acropolis & Parthenon.

About the Maker

Galerie Philia Furniture

Galerie Philia is a recognized contemporary design and modern fine arts gallery representing world wide known designers and artists. The Galerie Philia exhibits a collection resulting from a rhizomatic research transcending formal, stylistic, national or historical barriers. The selected art works emanates from different cultures and periods, are incarnated in various and multiform mediums, and evoke multiple and changing interior worlds. The only criterion unifying this composite plurality is their esthetical qualities and the sense they convey. The Galerie Philia attempts in this way to build bridges between different artistic continents in order to enlighten art works endowed with a marked artistic depth.
