About the Item

A charming and high quality true pair of French 19th century patinated Bronze and Ormolu statues, signed H. Ferrat. Each stunning bronze is raised by a square Ormolu plinth below a circular patinated Bronze socle pedestal, where the signature is shown. Each bronze depicts a female maiden with a charming expression draped in classical attire carrying an amphora on her shoulder with ribbons in her hair. All original rich and warm patina throughout. Charles Hippolyte Marcellin Ferrat (1822-1882) was a French sculptor born in Aix-en-Provence, France. His work was commissioned by private collectors and city halls and are currently displayed in Museums throughout Europe and the United States
