Pair of French 19th Century Terracotta Statues

About the Item

A sensational and extremely decorative pair of French 19th century Terra Cotta statues. Each statue is raised by oblong-shaped bases with fine mottled bands decorated with lovely foliate wrap-around bands. Above are the beautiful and wonderfully executed statues of a charming young boy and a lovely young lady riding goats. Each statue is set on a ground-like design. The boy is dressed in finely detailed period attire with a jacket and bow with his long hair tied back. He sits with his legs on each side of the richly sculpted goat while holding its horn. The beautiful young lady is dressed in a finely detailed long flowing dress with her hair tied in an updo with a bonnet and is sitting sidesaddle while petting the charming goat. Lovely subject matter and wonderful attention to detail throughout.
