Pair of French Mid-19th Century Louis XVI Style Decorative Statues

About the Item

A most elegant and extremely high quality pair of French mid 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu, Wedgwood and marble decorative statues. Raised by rectangular shaped Bleu Turquin marble plinths with handsome acanthus leaf designed ormolu bands below berried laurel swaging garlands on three sides. The garland at the front surrounds oval Wedgwood plaques of charming classical scenes. Above each base are ormolu classically dressed young maidens with one holding up cymbals while the other a tambourine. Exceptional detail and all original burnished and satin gilt throughout.
