Pair of Grand Tour 19th Century Bronze Putti Figures on Marble Bases, C 1860

About the Item

This small pair of fine Italian Grand Tour bronze figures are of classical putti naked apart from a belt of vine leaves and grapes around their lower torso. Each with one arm raised and holding a chalice of wine taken from the ewer which is lying on its side under a raised foot. This fine pair of bronzes is beautifully hand finished with chased detailing and a fine dark brown patination. They are mounted and displayed on turned russet marble plinths each finished with a flared foot. Circa 1860. Measures: height 16cm x width 6 x depth 6cm.
