Dated from the 19th century, circa 1820, pair of neoclassical terracotta statue representing Vulcan and Mercury children. Vulcan is the patron god of fire, volcanoes and smiths, which is recognizable by his Hammer, his apron and his anvil; and Mercury is the patron god of commerce, thieves, and travels, which is recognizable by his winged petasus, his purse, and his caduceus in his hands. They both rest on a base decorated with molded frames and a frieze of ovals at the bottom. Base dimensions: 15.7 x 15.7 in.
