Rare Stoneware Wall Plaque by Stig Lindberg for Gustavsberg, 1950s. Beautifully glazed relief carvings and incisions. Stamped at the back and the artist’s signature at the front in relief. About the Artist: Stig Lindberg (1916-1982) was a renowned Swedish designer and ceramic artist, recognized for his significant contributions to the world of Scandinavian design in the mid-20th century. Born in Umeå, Sweden, Lindberg initially studied painting but later shifted his focus to ceramics. Lindberg's work is characterized by its whimsical and innovative designs, often incorporating nature-inspired motifs and a playful use of color.
