Recumbent Lion Bronze

About the Item

This vintage 19th century French bronze sculpture is artist signed and bears a family seal. The stunning sculpture portrays a majestic recumbent lion is beautifully rendered by the noted artist, J. Becquet. The bronze patinated animal is dramatically positioned alone on an oval platform. The platform exhibits the original foundry seal, "E. Gruet jeune Fondeur, Avenue de Chatillon, Paris", as well as, the artist's signature.
