About the Item

Renaissance Style, Italian Carved Wood Blackamoor, (from a Mario Buatta Apt. N Y). From a Park Ave apt in NYC decorated by Mario Buatta (1935-2018) in the 80s. A dignified young servant dressed in the finery of the Baroque era. Very detailed carving, polychrome and gilt decoration. The piece is in three pieces, the figure sits on the plinth and the pillow tray removes. There are / were a few Florentine companies that produced these for 150 years or more. This is a dramatic addition to a home in the antique Italian style. Terrific in an entry, drawing room or library.
