Schell Adjustable Bust Form

About

In the city dubbed “the Paris of the West”, a woman named Natalie Schell patented this adjustable bust dress form from strips of malleable metal. A highly unusual article in itself, the fact it was the creation of a female inventor makes it all the more incredible. This form was created specifically for a “Mrs. W. Rogers” as evidenced by handwritten labeling on the piece itself, circa 1890. This dress form is one of the most spectacularly rare and interesting things we’ve seen here at the shop in a long time, both visually and historically. Exceptional.
