Sevres Bisque Porcelain, Toilet of Venus figural group, after Boizot

About the Item

This is a stunning bisque fired porcelain figural group depicting the Toilet of Venus in the Louis XVI style. The sculpture was originally modelled by Louis-Simon Boizot (French, 1743-1809). Venus sits surrounded by three attendants and two putti, in a cloud of flowers and drapery. Impressed Sevres mark to the side of base which is deep cobalt with gold band detailing. 20th century. This piece is spectacular from every angle. Small restoration to the neck and leg of one maiden, please see photographs.
