Three Dancing Putti - after Charles Petre (1828-1907)

About the Item

The original statue is the work of Charles Petre (1828 - 1907). This is a larger version of the original without markings. The term "putti" is generally used in Greek-Roman mythology and subsequent art to refer to a figure. They are typically depicted as young, chubby gods or goddesses who are often seen in the company of shepherds or nature protectors. In most cases, they embody a sense of joyfulness and playfulness. Putti are usually small in size and have a mischievous appearance, often depicted with animals or natural elements such as small horns or wings. In Greek mythology, they play a playful and mischievous role among the divine powers, although in some sources, such as Virgil's works, they are seen more as embodiments of youth, playfulness, and joy of life.
