"Tray of Oranges", Rare Art Deco Perfume Warmer w/ North African Figure
About the Item
For a French woman in the 1920s, this figure of a turbaned North African woman, resplendent in a yellow robe and carrying a tray loaded with oranges, would have been exotic and fascinating. The sculpture was designed to be internally illuminated. The warmth of the interior bulb also served to warm the perfume that would have been placed in the bowl at the center of the tray, sending the scent throughout the room. This warmer is one of several with a North African theme that are available from Renaissance Man Antiques.
