About the Item

An unfinished Inuit studio stone carving depicting a reclining Mother feeding her child. The Mother with upturned and serene expression. The carving, in a dark grey Soapstone or Slate with soft polish. The piece is unfinished and the engraved outline of the proposed square base is clearly visible within the irregular base slab. Unsigned. Dimensions: 10.25” wide by 10.25” deep by 4.25” high. Condition: Please see detail photos. Various signs of age include various scratches and nicks to the stone which do not detract from the timeless theme of the Mother and Child.
