A unique piece by Italian ceramicist, Alvino BAGNI (1919-2009). Alvino Bagni was an Italian ceramic artist who created stunning sculptures during the mid-20th century. His pieces are known for their organic forms and intricate designs, and his unique approach to sculpture has made him a sought-after artist among collectors and art enthusiasts. The fifties and sixties were important years for Bagni, during which he established privileged relationships with several important names in American design and business, including Raymor (N.Y.) and Rosenthal. Very large sculpture of an anthropomorphic character and a dove symbolizing peace in terracotta glazed green wiped gray. Made in 1964. Directly from the artist's studio. Lastra a Signa (FI), Italy. The piece is in excellent original condition and will be shipped with care.
