Untitled' Two-Part Steel Sculpture by Cor Van Dijk
About the Item
This two-part steel sculpture by Dutch artist Cor van Dijk (b. 1952, Pernis) is a refined example of minimalist abstraction. Composed of interlocking rectangular volumes, the piece balances open and solid spaces with precision. The untreated steel surfaces, marked by natural patina and subtle texture variations, lend an organic dimension to its industrial aesthetic. The juxtaposition of mass and void creates a dynamic interplay of light and shadow, encouraging exploration from multiple angles. Influenced by modernist principles and the sculptural language of Donald Judd and Tony Smith, the work celebrates materiality and simplicity. Van Dijk’s industrial design background and the modular clarity of Dutch design traditions are evident, making this sculpture a timeless study in form and space.
