1970s derriere / mask maquette sculpture by Yves Loyer of Paris, France. Piece stands on its own or can be hung. It measures 5.75" high by 10" wide by 3.75" deep. Unsigned.
Evocative, sensual bronze model for La grenouillere, a monumental work for the development of the banks of the Saint-Martin canal, in Paris. The project never saw completion, but the pieces of the model remain.
Born in Paris in 1923 , Yves Loyer first worked as an engineer and lawyer, before devoting himself fully to his artistic work. Influenced by Pollock and Rauschenberg and more broadly by American abstraction in the 1960s, Yves Loyer then turned to architectural and monumental art.
