About the Item

Circa 1750 agateware or scroddleware pottery miniature cradle, English. Likely Staffordshire. Marbled creams & brown/reddish brown clays. Comingled solid clays unglazed on rockers indicative of this rare form. Two rocker tips are re-stuck. Favored wedding presents from the late 17th century, often modified with the first child's name & birthdate. 9.25" x 6.25" x 7.5" h.
