19th Century Bronze & Ormolu Saint George & The Dragon In Domed Glass Cloche

About the Item

19th century patinated bronze and ormolu highlighted Saint George and the Dragon, set on a purple velvet base and ebonised plinth with bun feet. Cased in a glass cloche. Circa 1860. A very well executed example of excellent casting, it is set in the original glass cloche on a solid mahogany ebonised plinth. There are some black spot markings to the inside of the dome, as shown. One of the front bun feet is slightly loose, and rotates. This is very stable when in situ with no issues.

A rare and almost certainly unique 19th century castle decanter. Possibly Scottish. Circa 1870. The outer is made from plaster of Paris, with detailed texture, having wooden hand-painted lancet arched windows and front door, and featuring a central clock face and medieval crenulations.
