Bronze Cherub and Vulture Fountain Head Sculpture, 18th Century
About the Item
A very rare antique bronze fountain fitting mounted on a later purpose made wooden base with a detachable winged cherub seated on the back of a vulture like bird with its wings raised ready for flight and standing on a simulated rock work base. This unusual piece was part of a larger fountain and acquired from a stately home more than a decade ago. It has been sympathetically and professionally polished so as to retain much of the original patina and is mounted on a turned wooden pedestal base.
