Depicting detailed bronze sails in a mid century modern style, this striking sculpture is an unusual piece that would certainly take pride of place in any home or exterior setting.
Charlotte Mayer (Czech b.1929-2022)
Born in the Prague, Charlotte Mayer emigrated to the UK in 1939, a move that would lead her to be one of the only few women to study at Goldsmiths and the Royal College of Art in the late 1940s.
Throughout her life she created both eye-catching and emotionally expressive artwork that work well in traditional and contemporary settings alike.
Mayer was commissioned to create work for a number of commercial institutions including the Pangolin London and BNP Paribas, London. She is also represented in institutional and private collections across the world, including Europe, Japan, Hong Kong and USA.

Terence Coventry (1938-2017) ‘Riders’ Bronze Sculpture

A sculptural bronze of two figures on horseback – titled ‘Riders’ – first shown in 1989 by the late British sculptor, Terence Coventry (1938-2017).
Coventry’s works were exhibited several times at Gallery Pangolin, including posthumously following selected exhibitions after the sculptor’s death. This bronze sculpture is one of these such pieces. The sculpture is pictured in a press release from Gallery Pangolin exhibiting Terence Coventry’s works from April 2019.
Although unsigned by the artist, there is an accompanying Certificate of Authenticity from Gallery Pangolin. It is a limited-edition piece, edition 5 of 7 similar made.
Depicting two horse riders, this three-dimensional figural sculpture will make a fantastic display piece in an interior, ideally situated on a plinth so that it’s beauty can be observed from every angle.
