Imagine these predatory, squid-like creatures plying the warm, shallow seas in their characteristic spiral shell. They used a siphon to get around, squirting water with grace and agility.
This stunning Crystallized Ammonite was fossilized in a silica-rich sediment of calcite, allowing for rapid petrification and exceptional preservation of its unique details and peculiar coloration.
