Hmong Neck Ring

About the Item

This is a mid-20th century Hmong neck ring or necklace that was crafted of low grade silver in the traditional Hmong manner. The Hmong are renown for their silver making skills. Women wear the traditional silver neck rings as amulets which protect the wearer's spirit from leaving the body. This particular neck ring is in very good condition with normal signs of wear. The custom iron stand allows the neck ring to be a unique decorative element suitable for integration into a mid-century minimal design or into a traditional scheme.
