Hugh Acton Wood Sculpture from His Own Barn

Stunning abstract bird sculpture in solid Brazilian Rosewood by artist Narendra Patel. Originally hailing from India, the sculptor completed degrees in painting, sculpting, and product design at the prestigious Maharaja Sayajirao University before moving to the U.S. for his M.A. in Sculpture at Wayne State University and M.A. in Fine Art at Cranbrook in 1965. His final year at Cranbrook in Michigan was the year he completed this piece. The piece is in excellent condition with a fine patina. Mounted in a block of redwood, the bird is free to swivel with its tail smoothly passing each corner without hitting it.
