Large Pair of Antique Bronze Egyptian Priest & Priestess Sculptures By E. Bouret
About the Item
Stunning pair of antique bronze statues of the highest quality.
If you are interested in exceptional antiques in general and in Egyptian Revival antiques in particular then this stunning and original, Parisian-made pair could be there to grace your living space soon. Besides being the only original antique pair that we have ever seen, they also are the largest bronze statues that you can find anywhere by this maker. This combination in itself is priceless, but the quality in the details and the condition of these bronzes is what really puts them in a league of their own. A far more experienced and knowledgable antique dealer once tought us that a really good sculpture looks good from all angles and that too is why we feel very comfortable in presenting these works of fine art in our first image using a photo from the back. The details are just amazing from all angles, as are the body postures, facial features and also the way the robes of these high priests look so incredibly natural and life-like. Besides the type of robes that they wear, these Egyptian Revival high priests are covered in other details and object and symbols that leave no doubt as to what style and era they represent. Mind you, for safer shipping both the high priest's staff and the caduceus that the priestess is holding can be removed. These remarkable antique bronze statues are both signed 'Bourety', but the first six letters (Bouret) are signed/written exactly like Eutrope Bouret signs his bronzes. This, combined with the exceptional quality, the details, the superb patina and the fact that they were made in the exact same era, makes us 100% convinced that these museum worthy statues are and can only have been made by master sculptor Eutrope Bouret. And the casting and patination is at least as good as the bronzes that came out of the foundry of fellow Parisian Ferdinand Barbedienne. Apart from some chips to the matching black marble bases, this fit-for-a-king pair could hardly be in better condition. Have you also noticed how the gilt bronze lining underneath the black marble bases literally lift them up, no matter how they are displayed. So if you are looking for the perfect decoration or gift for yourself or for that special loved one then this large and majestic pair of eyecatchers from the 1800s could be flying your way soon.
This finest quality pair with its great patina and remarkable details is great value for money. Also, because our fair price again includes perfect packing and also worldwide shipping from our store to your door in just 4 to 6 days.
