About the Item

Offered for your consideration is this iconic, working, circa 1920s woodstock vintage typewriter displayed on a vintage steel typewriter drop-leaf rolling table. Woodstock was based near Chicago and started out as the Emerson Brand, then the Roebuck Brand and then in 1915 became the Woodstock brand. They were an upper tier brand and eventually became the main supplier of typewriters to the US military during WW II. It is very likely that many historic military documents were typed on these later Woodstock machines. Also these machines were used extensively by writers at the Hollywood Studios. This unit's original serial number: RK87473 dates it from the 1920s but the body design looks a bit later. We are still researching this for a more definitive and accurate answer. The drop-leaf rolling steel typewriter table is unlabeled but appears to be an American midcentury design. All pieces are very original and working. There is a castered wheel replaced on the table but it is still very similar to the original. All else seems era correct and in excellent condition. All paint and finish are original. Wonderful aged patina. Both the table and typewriter are included in this offering. The dimensions shown are with both leaves extended. The original ribbon feed spool has original rust as found. We can eliminate this or leave it as is, buyers choice.
