Petrified Conifer Slab Araucaria (Monkey Puzzle Tree) Triassic Period Chinle Formation Arizona, USA A stunning over 200 million year old petrified conifer slab, featuring a most distinctive combination of odd and unusual colors and cavities coated in a crystalline drusy material, making this organic sculptural slab of fossilized wood from the American Southwest quite different from most any others. This most impressive specimen measures over nine inches diameter and shows an array of bright colors and warm hues including maroon, slate, gray, and burnt orange. 9.25 x 8.86 x 0.79 inches (23.50 x 22.50 x 2.00 cm) [Photo with 1 inch brass element for Scale, with mark at 1 cm] It can be displayed a variety of ways, including free-standing vertical as a visually striking natural sculpture, placed horizontal as a colorful decorative accent on a table or console, or used as a one-of-a-kind drink coaster, statue riser, or desk paper weight.
