Dioptase with Calcite
About the Item
The name “dioptase” comes from Greek, roughly translates to "to see through," and references the visibility of the cleavage plains within the translucent, brilliantly emerald green crystals of this copper cyclosilicate mineral. This large specimen boasts a thick coating of incredibly lustrous and deeply-hued fully formed green dioptase crystals with beautiful clarity and incredible emerald color, accented by secondary calcite crystal growths including a visually anchoring, fully formed calcite crystal on the bottom righthand corner. A standout piece sure to bring color and character to the finest of collections.
