Fossil Trilobite Surmounted Etched Brass stand

About the Item

AES Brass stand series brings you a positive and negative Cambropallas tellesto geode measuring 39cm in width overall, now transformed with our elegant, innovated-designed stand series, an extraordinary pair of positive and negative Cambropallas tellesto fossil trilobite influenced by iron oxide concentrations that have transformed this natural and vibrant tonal palette. The three-dimensional exoskeleton of the arthropod displays every segment of the thorax: the cephalon (head) and pygidium (tail). The axis lobe runs the length of the body from the cephalon to the pygidium, where the prominently extends outwards away from the matrix, and the eyes protrude away from the cephalon, showcasing each complete plural lobe with definition throughout to the pygidium. These finer details make this specimen very special, making this an excellent example of scientific significance for the researcher and collector alike. DETAIL

Fossil Glossopteris Fern Leaf Plate & Surmounted Etched Brass Stand
Located in Scorton, GB
A beautiful display of Glossopteris seed fern leaves preserved within the Permian claystone (Illawarra Coal Measures, Upper Permian; Dunedoo area, New South Wales, Australia) now presented on THE FOSSIL STORE™ designed AES Brass stand series for spaces out there!

T he Glossopteris plate is excellent fossil preservation of the archetypical ‘sage’ shaped leaf embedded within the once soft matrix, creating a definitive display of leaves, and the reverse of this plate has a similarly beautiful display of Glossopteris Leaves exhibiting a lovely palette of colour.

Plants are multicellular, photosynthetic eucaryotes. The oldest known land plant body fossils are Silurian in age. Fossil root traces of land plants are known back to the Ordovician era. The Devonian was the critical time interval during which land plants flourished, and Earth experienced its first “greening” of the land. The earliest land plants were small and simple and probably remained close to bodies of water. By the Late Devonian, land plants had evolved large, tree-sized bodies, and the first-ever forests appeared.

Glossopteris is probably the most familiar fossil leaf...
