About the Item
Aesthetic combination of scallops shell fossils, called gigantopecten restitutensis, and an oyster, this is a nice collection and decoration piece on its black wooden stand. It can be put on a desk, or a shelf, for exemple. This is a good sample of these species and earth's past wildlife and history.
From Luberon, in the south of France, these animals lived 18 to 23 millions years ago. We excavate them from the sandstone and sculpt it to unveil and emphasis the fossils shells.
Every piece is unique and original. This one displays a shell in a shell, as if the first one was eating the second (which can't be the case, and is fortunate)
