This is a slice of fossilized dinosaur bone with one side polished to a mirror finish. This specimen is a fossilized dinosaur bone in which the original fossil material has been replaced by silica, exposing the inner cell structure of the bone. The impurities within the silica is how this piece gets its color. Because this process happens at a sub-cellular level, it leaves the internal structures intact, creating a beautiful display piece. You will receive the exact object in this photo with an acrylic display stand.
