About the Item

Natural Ammonite Fossil Specimen Mortoniceras Drakeoceras 110 Million Years Old apx. We love the elegance of this ammonite specimen and are excited to be able to present it here. The leafy suture pattern can be seen in some of the specimen, and plenty of beautiful ribs. As is always ideal, the ammonite has been cleared of the matrix in which these are found during digs on both sides, so both sides (rather than just one side like some ammonite specimens) show the ammonite, which is preferable and adds to its value and beauty.Since this is a prehistoric fossil it will show its age (of course!) potentially such as cracks, pits, etc. We do our best to find the nicest possible items with the least bothersome imperfections and point out any concerning ones. We think this specimen is simply beautiful. ***Please note that the stand is *not* included for reasons of safety. 1) Shipping large metals with ammonites is too risky in our opinion, and 2) We feel it's best for each ammonite specimen to be fitted with a stand just right for its size, weight, and fragility whereas our stands are for photographs, not long-term display.*** That said, if you really want this particular stand and are okay with the risk of using it with this ammonite, we can set up a separate listing for it for you and ship it separately to you that way. Let us know if you'd prefer that. General Information: Measurements are approximate and generally represent the highest, widest, and thickest areas of an item. Species and where discovered are estimated based on available comparisons, research of others, and/or the source from which we obtained the specimen as we are not fossil experts. Please expect that prehistoric items such as fossils may have signs of wear, use, or need for cleaning. Some may also have had repairs/restorations or have been sealed for preservation's sake. Please be aware that the color on your monitor and/or in your environment may look slightly different than in ours, so color is not guaranteed to be exact. Please also keep in mind that vintage and older items usually will show some indication of previous ownership and handling. Buyers of vintage and older items are presumed to understand and accept these. Since we do not do returns, please feel free to send questions if you have any before your purchase and we will be pleased to respond. #Ammonite #NaturalSpecimen #Mortoniceras Drakeoceras #leafypattern #rarefossil #extinctfossil #fossil #uniquespecimen #collectorsitem #extinctfossilspecimen #ammonitefossil #ammonite #ribbedammonite #fossilspecimen #ammonitespecimen #Decor #naturalworld #naturalspecimen #fossils #Cretaceous #prehistoric #extinct #ocean #sea
