Pair of Belgium Calcite Septarian Nodule Natural Form on Custom Metallic Stand
About the Item
Pair of Belgium calcite Septarian nodule natural form on metallic base.
Its name comes from Latin “Septem”, meaning seven years. This is because these nodules tend to crack at 7 points in all directions, creating their distinctive pattern. As a result of volcanic eruptions, Dead Sea life attracted the sediments that surrounded it forming nodules. As the ocean receded, nodules were dried reducing their Size, creating cracks inside forming crystals of calcite. The thin outer walls of calcite subsequently transform into Aragonite, forming these wonderful pieces.
