About the Item
An exceptional example of natural crystal carving, this substantial smoky quartz bowl is crafted from a rare variety of quartz rich in golden rutile inclusions. The yellow rutile needles are suspended within the semi-translucent quartz matrix, forming a dense internal pattern that shifts with the light.
Cut into a freeform rectangular block, the bowl is shaped with faceted edges and deliberately uneven surfaces, allowing both raw and polished textures to coexist. The top features a shallow, oval-form basin that has been smoothed and finished to a high polish, revealing the striking mineral inclusions beneath the surface. A piece that sits at the intersection of natural mineral specimen and functional sculpture.
Rutilated smoky quartz is often associated with grounding energy, protection, and clarity of intention—its presence in interiors is believed to both energize and calm, particularly in spaces of reflection or meditation.
