About the Item
Starfish Fossil, Two Starfish Entwined in Matrix, 443 to 485 Million Years Old. Ordovician Period
This is a compelling starfish fossil specimen; we don't typically see two starfish entwined like this in fossil specimens, so it seems to us a very special find. It has been lightly sealed to help with preservation.
Since this is a prehistoric fossil it will show its age (of course!) potentially such as cracks, pits, etc. We do our best to find the nicest possible items with the least bothersome imperfections. We see no unusual imperfections on this specimen, but still, perfection should not be expected with fossils. Of course we always pack very carefully and your fossil will arrive in tact!
A smaller, foldable plastic stand can be included for free as a gift if you like.
General Information:
Measurements are approximate and generally represent the highest, widest, and thickest areas of an item. Species and where discovered are estimated based on available comparisons, research of others, and/or the source from which we obtained the specimen as we are not fossil experts. Please expect that prehistoric items such as fossils may have signs of wear, use, or need for cleaning. Some may also have had repairs/restorations or have been sealed for preservation's sake. Please be aware that the color on your monitor and/or in your environment may look slightly different than in ours, so color is not guaranteed to be exact. Please also keep in mind that vintage and older items usually will show some indication of previous ownership and handling. Buyers of vintage and older items are presumed to understand and accept these. Since we do not do returns, please feel free to send questions if you have any before your purchase and we will be pleased to respond.
