About the Item
Patinated steel Sculpture by Robert Couturier (1905-2008) made as Homage to Rodin. It depicts a man facing a woman. Signed "Couturier 2/3."
Robert Couturier was a protege of the artist Maillol. Two of his sculptures are displayed at the Maillol museum. In 1970 the Rodin museum mounted an important exhibition of Couturier's work.
The base bears the stamp of the famous Dominion Gallery of Montreal.
