"Two Women, " Large, Lovely Mid-Century Sculpture by Lore Friedrich-Gronau

About the Item

Full of movement and grace, this entrancing sculpture was designed by Lore Friedrich-Gronau for the famous Karlsruhe ceramic works in Germany in the 1950s. She was famous for her approach to glazing, contrasting the bare brown clay with areas of glaze in pale shades of blue and yellow. The two female figures have lovely features and seem to glide along effortlessly. This piece is especially large and rare.
